Upload Contacts

Learn how to import your prospect list into WarmOpener using CSV files or manual entry. Organize contacts into lists for better campaign targeting.

CSV Upload (Recommended)

The fastest way to import contacts is via CSV file. Your CSV should include these columns:

Required Fields

• email - Contact's email address (unique identifier)
• first_name - Contact's first name
• last_name - Contact's last name

Optional Fields (Recommended for Better AI Personalization)

• company - Company name
• job_title - Job title/role
• industry - Company industry
• recent_news - Recent company news or triggers
• pain_point - Known pain points or challenges
• Any custom fields you want to track (e.g., company_size, location)

Example CSV Format

Upload Process

1. Navigate to Contacts - Click Contacts in the sidebar, then click Upload CSV
2. Select Your CSV File - Click "Select CSV file" and choose your file (max 10MB)
3. Map Columns - Match your CSV columns to WarmOpener fields. The system will auto-detect matches for common field names
4. Add to List (Optional) - Select a contact list to add imported contacts to, or skip this step
5. Preview - Review the first 5 contacts to ensure mapping is correct
6. Import - Click "Import X Contacts" to complete the upload

Manual Contact Entry

For adding individual contacts or small batches:

1. Click Add Contact on the Contacts page
2. Fill in the contact form (email, first name, last name required)
3. Add any custom fields you need
4. Click Save

Plan Limits

• Free Trial: 100 contacts
• Starter: 1,000 contacts/month
• Growth: 5,000 contacts/month
• Scale: 20,000 contacts/month

⚠️ Important: Contact Tracking

Your plan limit tracks total contacts created, not current count. This means:

• ✅ If you import 100 contacts, you've used 100 of your limit
• ❌ If you delete 50 contacts and import 50 more, you've used 150 total
• 🔄 Contact limits reset monthly with your billing cycle

This prevents abuse of the free trial and ensures fair usage. Deleted contacts still count toward your monthly limit.

💡 Pro Tip

The more data you provide (company, job title, recent news), the better the AI personalization will be. Contacts with rich data get 3-4x higher reply rates. Don't skip optional fields!
